Ensuring the future of the past

Ward & Co has grown from its foundation in 1995 to become a UK leader in Historic Building Conservation with clients including The National Trust, English Heritage and Historic Royal Palaces. The company operates from two centres and has one of the largest fully employed teams of craftsmen in the country as well as operating a highly praised apprenticeships scheme.

A brand strategy that reflects achievements and aspirations

Manifest were invited by Ward to investigate an evolution of the brand and its expression. In common with other fast-growing organisations, the brand no longer adequately expressing the reality of the business and this was potentially affecting its ability to attract the right kind of projects. We developed a brand idea that centres on the company’s innovative and forward-looking values and personality. In implementing this positioning we evolved the visual identity to produce a cleaner, fresher expression both in terms of the castle symbol and typographically, modifying the name to produce a shorter more memorable form. Our communications work includes the development and building of a website, tender documentation and stationery.
